Prof. Dr. Esther Hänggi
Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts - Information Technology

Esther Hänggi loves math, technology and languages, so she studied Physics at EPF Lausanne, before moving to ETH’s Computer Science Department for her doctoral studies on quantum cryptography. She spent some time at CQT in Singapore doing research on quantum information and then she moved to the applied IT security industry, working on application security and identity & access management.
Since 2019, she is a professor at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and co-heads the Applied Cyber Security Research Lab. Her current work aims at bringing theory and practice in quantum cryptography closer together and improving the security of real-world quantum cryptographic systems.
